CAPTIVATING. ENTERTAINING. INNOVATIVE. FUNNY.

Captivating, entertaining, innovative, funny. Art Hamilton has been called many things but never boring. Art has a broad appeal to audiences of all types. He brings a mix of baby boomer passion and generation Y relevancy to issues of politics, business, the economy, family, and the importance of reaching for the stars in all that we do. With a booming voice, fascinating stories and a passion for people, Art Hamilton brings life and laughter to your event. Whether speaking before leaders of nations, including Presidents Bill Clinton and Nelson Mandela, or inspiring the children at the public elementary school that bears his name, Art Hamilton can be trusted to entertain, educate and inspire even the toughest crowd.

When speaking to people from across the country, Art draws upon his real life experiences and understanding of local and global affairs to captivate his audiences.  One of eleven children, Art was raised in a public housing project in Phoenix, Arizona.   He got his first job when he was 14 years old.   He is familiar with having to work hard in order to get ahead.   At the tender age of 21 Mr. Hamilton became state legislator and he continued as a public servant for 26 years.  During his tenure with the Arizona House of Representatives Art served as a minority leader for 18 years.  In addition to serving in the legislature, Art was the first African-American and only Arizonan to be elected president of the National Conference of State Legislatures. He also was appointed by President Clinton to serve on the Advisory Council on Intergovernmental Relations.  During the same time Art worked a full time job in order to take care of family.   It can be said that Art Hamilton never compared himself to others; rather, he defined who he was and blazed a trail along the way.  He was a renaissance man years before the term became popular. Art’s life is a testament to dedication, perseverance and commitment to creating a better life for all.

In 2005, Mr. Hamilton was honored with the Calvin C. Goode Lifetime Achievement Award. This is an award made by the Phoenix Human Relations Commission, in collaboration with the City of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department, which recognizes the accomplishments of Phoenix residents who contribute significantly to creating a compassionate and socially just community.  In 2008, the Arizona Republic named Art Hamilton one of the ten best legislators in modern Arizona history.

Art Hamilton now heads The Art Hamilton Group public affairs agency. He is intimately involved in issues and causes that affect the country’s future including: education, healthcare, Native American causes and government relations.
